Our Mission

My ambition is that through my combined passion for fitness, running and for helping others, I can encourage everyone to get out there and enjoy the life-changing benefits that exercise has to offer.

It has so often been the case that when I tell people that I run and that I’ve run marathons, they respond with “I wish I could run”, or “I wish I enjoyed exercise”… Well - despite what we came away from school believing, the power to get fit and stay fit in very much in our control. Starting very slowly and moving at our own pace - we're all physically capable of building fitness, and for most of us, of improving our strength and even giving running a go again too. As for enjoying it - well that’s where I come in… I’m here to help you learn to LOVE exercise and running!

I truly believe that exercise enhances our lives in so many ways; it isn’t just about losing weight or achieving a certain body shape, it is about hormones, sleep quality, heart and lung health, muscle strength, bone strength, mental health; it is all about living our best life for longer.

I feel such joy when someone tells me they have started running or a new fitness regime; to watch them become fitter and the quality of their lives steadily improving; making better decisions for their physical and mental well-being. I relish hearing that someone has run their first 5K, 10K or half-marathon having only started running a year ago, when running that distance felt like a pipe dream. Also seeing the immense pride they feel at having done something so challenging, then having them explain to me how the everyday things in life now seem so much easier to deal with as a result of doing this difficult thing.

I love seeing women (and men) over the age of forty getting a spring back into their step! “Hey - it is still within my power to do something that makes me feel good in my body again!” Coupled with the strength it provides that we promise ourselves: “getting fit is tough - but I’m going to build this habit anyway!” and then get on and do it, step-by-step, week-by-week.

As we age it can feel as though our body is slowly giving up on us. We struggle to keep the weight off, we ache more, we feel more tired in the morning; gone are the days where we leap out of bed! We struggle to climb stairs without feeling out of breath, our body barely strong enough to carry our shopping, we feel our back strain as we lift something from the floor… The strength and fitness that exercise provides us with helps us to take back control! Suddenly we feel like we can live life to the full again, with the energy to enjoy every day.

I understand that it is scary to start something new; something that is going to push our body and feels difficult; I am here to reassure you, to build up your confidence and to motivate you to keep you going through the tough times. I want to help you reach the stage in your fitness where you feel confident doing daily exercise, a healthy mix of strength work and jogging/running you find your running ‘happy place’, giving you the power to feel on top of the world!

I believe that if everyone is exercising, if we all go through this together, it is going to have such a tremendously positive impact on the world! The decisions we make, how we treat each other and most importantly, how we feel in ourselves.
